Video Tutorials
See below for common confusions using your CD-ROM for the first time!
1. If you are having problems opening your CD-ROM - if it doesn't automatically load when you put the CD in the drive, your 'autorun' may not be enabled on your machine. Enabling this function will fix it on the Windows platform. However, a quick fix is to follow the instructions on the video clip to the right.
Briefly - open the CD and find the file that says 'start_coursename.htm' - the coursename would be 'teachers', 'healthcare' or whatever the course of your CD is. Double click that file and it will open in your Internet browser.
2. If you don't see the triangular LingoLynx logo at the top of the screen you need to download the Flash player. Follow the instructions on the CD screen to find this small, quick and FREE program on the disk itself. OR view the video to the right for instructions!
3. If your cultural links from the Web Resources section of your CD do not come in through the CD, follow the link from the previous screen on this website, or go to 'Already a student?' and click your course name. There you will find your cultural links organized by module for your research.
4. If your browser is set to block pop-up windows when surfing the Internet, the CD-ROM program will not play correctly. View the video to the right for how to get around this with any screen that blocks the program.
Briefly, look at the top of the screen for a cream-yellow bar. This will tell you that your browser has stopped a pop-up window from opening and says 'click here' or there will be a button for 'options'. Click and choose 'allow block' and 'yes'. The program will proceed.
